About PregnancyCalculator.co.uk
A small, independent UK team building free, private, NHS-aligned pregnancy tools for UK parents.
Who we are
We are a small, independent UK-based team who built this site because expectant parents deserve free, accurate, private pregnancy tools. We are not a medical organisation. We are not affiliated with the NHS.
We are parents and healthcare-aware individuals who believe information about pregnancy should be accessible, trustworthy and free. Your privacy matters to us: all calculations run locally in your browser, and your pregnancy data is never stored or shared.
What we offer
Our free due date calculator uses Naegele's rule, the same method applied by NHS midwives, to estimate your estimated due date based on your last menstrual period, conception date, ultrasound scan result, or IVF transfer date. For couples trying to conceive, our ovulation calculator identifies your fertile window and peak ovulation day, and our guide on when to take a pregnancy test walks through the earliest reliable testing dates.
Once pregnancy is confirmed, our week-by-week development guide follows your baby from week 4 through to week 40, alongside our pregnancy weight gain tool and a kick counter for baby's movements. If you are employed in the UK, our maternity pay calculator estimates your SMP week by week.
Throughout pregnancy, we cover what foods to avoid in pregnancy, folic acid and pregnancy vitamins, exercising safely in pregnancy, and common pregnancy symptoms. We have dedicated compassionate guides for more challenging situations: severe morning sickness, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia warning signs, pelvic girdle pain, mental health in pregnancy, miscarriage support, Group B Strep, and DVT in pregnancy.
Our NHS antenatal appointments timeline explains what happens at every routine check so you can prepare and ask the right questions. As birth approaches, we cover signs that labour has started, the stages of labour, pain relief options, how to put together your personalised birth plan, and our practical hospital bag checklist. For less-common paths through birth, we have guides to breech baby, assisted delivery, perineal tears and episiotomy, premature birth, recovering from a caesarean, and twin pregnancy.
After birth, our postnatal recovery guide covers what to expect in the weeks following delivery, alongside our breastfeeding guide and newborn care resource. Every page is free and every page runs in your browser.
Our principles
Privacy first
All calculations run in your browser. Nothing is stored, nothing is sent to our servers. Your pregnancy data stays with you.
NHS-aligned
We use methods consistent with UK clinical practice and cite NHS, NICE and RCOG guidance throughout. We are not the NHS, but we write for UK parents.
Accessibility
We are committed to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility. The site works with screen readers and keyboard navigation, and every interactive element has visible focus states.
Our complete pregnancy resource
Every page on the site, organised by stage. Use this as a quick index, or explore from the homepage.
